“We added valuable suggestions which were obtained from our clients. We are listening to our market and aggregating more value to our main product”, states Handerson Koerich, Technical Director of GesFin^TM, which is a company specialized in developing management solutions for the financial area.

GesFin^TM Planning v.3 presents a significant advantage regarding the structure of projects: a thorough support to multi-application, that is, to planning structures which are very complex; now the application can be segmented in several smaller cubes, according to the client’s interest. “We can develop a model only for Costs, and another one only for Income, and then integrate all of them into another model for Economic Planning, for instance”, explains the director.

The new version also received a new interface to simplify the building of managerial reports by the users themselves; with low complexity, and using the Microsoft wizard format. “This interface is one more step to lessen any dependence on IT knowledge that might still exist on the part of the financial area managers. It is a friendly way to create reports by using all of the Microsoft Report Services 2005“, says Koerich.

According to the executive, the client will notice such improvements in all aspects of the product, with an actual increment of up to 40% in planning calculations, and an outstanding improvement on the application performance, which was already regarded as very good by GesFin’s clients. “Our solution makes use of OLAP and MOLAP resources, and performs heavy simulations by using a much smaller hardware than our competitor’s applications do. We work to increasingly improve this relationship, for this is a major advantage concerning the total cost of a project”, points out Koerich.

Other fundamental aspects are related to security and versatility. “The planning manager now can offer or restrict writing permissions on the level of the cells inside a form. The authentication and authorization control of users may be done through the Microsoft Active Directory. Also the auditing track of the planning process has been refined and every change in figures is auditable in a more friendly format”.

Regarding its look, the product adopted themes and skins, a well-known functionality in Microsoft products. “This way we may have the application completely customized, bearing the standard layout of the company, its colors, fonts, etc. GesFin^TM planning v.3 also boasts an Add-On which thoroughly integrates the product to SAP Business One, including the SAP layout standards. This Add-On is already available for commercialization through the network of SAP’s VARs”, concludes Koerich.
